My intent with the previous post was not to propose a "right" aim. As Deming
frequently said, the aim is a value judgment. I do believe that different
choices of aim lead to very different actions by the firm.
We can choose (as investors, employees, customers, or citizens) not to
associate ourselves with a firm if we find its aim repugnant, but I don't
believe that firm's aim is "wrong" because it is not one I support.
