(We offer very good rates to our American (or where ever) friends here in
South Wales!!)

My cousin is currently writing her LLB dissertation on the legal
implications of genetically modified food stuffs and she sent me a copy to
read and pass comment on. (Coo interesting) I think I have some idea why
there has been a big impact on this side of the pond against GMO's and why
there has been a smaller impact on that side. We have a legal requirement
to show that something will not offer a danger to the environment / people
etc (We being Europe) whilst i the US there is a requirement to show that
there IS a danger. I guess this could be why there is so much bad blood
between the US and EU over food exports etc. The US sees that it is
meeting their laws whilst the EU sees it as not meeting their laws and both
sides (could be ) assume that the other is playing dirty.
On the surface the systems look the same, and they are 95% similar but they
differ in all important aspects.
