The reported discussions on co-operation amongst the Americas Cup defence
have been based on economic rather than philosophical reasoning.
There are mixed signals from the defence team:
- there is great competition for positions on the defending boat from the
crew of the two boats that have been trailing together
- the team has been working co-operatively to pool the knowledge and
resources of all members to produce the best defence that they can. It isn't
just the "3 at the back of the boat" who tell everybody else what to do..
