Another report from Kendra

Kendra Langford sent another note, from Australia,to her father,
David Langgford. I have edited it slightly to remove all names (this
is a public forum, you know!). I do not wish to cause problems for
Kendra.

============ start excerpt from Kendra's letter ========
Dad,

I helped out in Marilyn's English class today since she's in Melbourne for a
couple of days (and will be home in about an hour)--she was there for a
conference--anyway, I had to stop the teacher from doing destructive things
to the class. She meant well, and they were all working on their PDSA cycles
and she kind of invited herself into one group that Marilyn asked me to kind
of help which wouldn't have been a bad thing as it was but she didn't really
know what was going on and she kept adding bits of information and
trying to get them to come to conclusions when they hadn't even figured out
exactly what they were doing yet. I was just sitting there listening to her
and then I'd just be like "yeah, that's a great idea, but they aren't quite
there yet" because the kids in the group were just staring at her blankly and
didn't really have any idea how it all fit in to the process. Just
silly...you'd think subs could follow simple instructions:leave them alone.
hehehehhehe. Ah well, she meant well. ;-)

I had maths today too, and this teacher, his name is Mr. =====...well, he's
kind of different in that he'll give an assignment but it doesn't matter if
you do it or not because even if it is done he'll do most of the problems on
the board the next day. The one good thing though is that he lets us just
work for most of the class periods so we can just help each other which works
REALLY well. However, if you ask him for help on a question he just gives you
the answer and more than once he's been explaining it and suddenly I get it
and I'm like "Stop!! I don't want to know!! Just stop right now, let me
figure it out myself!!" He just kind of stares at me blankly, like why would
you want to do that? But ah well, I understand it and am explaining it to
other people so I guess that's good.

There is no such thing as an immaculate perception. What you see
depends upon what you thought before you looked.
