Re. Total Quality Management
Spiros Spyrou asked the question "Which one of Deming's 14 points do you
feel is the most important & why?"
I feel that if you are trying to pick any one of the 14 points as more
important than the others, you are in danger of missing a very important
concept.
I feel that all of the 14 points are equally important and should be
viewed as a whole. I believe that where many businesses etc. fail when
trying to implement a "Deming approach" is that they may tend to pick
the points which have particular appeal to them and to ignore others
which may be harder to implement.
I would liken the 14 points to the foundations of a building, if you
miss 1 or 2 the foundation will be unstable and will pretty quickly
collapse.
Hope this viewpoint is of help
