I prefer to use the SPC software. I have used both and the software is much
simpler to use than Excel, in my opinion.

I am a CQE and Six Sigma Black Belt, so allegedly I understand the basics.
However, I also take the time to learn the algorithms used by the SPC
software and at first I verified the results using Excel. When I got
comfortable that I uinderstood how the SPC softwareworked, I stopped the
verification.
