Human systems
Remarks concerning questions on human
systems: For those that want to study human systems, I use a text by
Goldenburg Goldenburg Family Therapy in my graduate course at LSU-S. It
gives the foundation to families and their interactional processes, using
Gregory Bateson and Ludwig von Bertalanffy as the developers of the human
system theory. The continuing development of mental health on this track has
lead to family therapy as a method to correct the special causes or causes
created internally acting on the system. Family systems is considerably
different than individual psychology, the former being the lead just as
management by numbers has been the lead in industry. Family systems theory
has struggled with individual based mental health because there is a larger
number practicing in that field and family systems is difficult to grasp. It
is difficult to realize that dynamics sets the stage for the behavior
between each other. A few family therapists have crossed over to the
business profession and can quickly grasp Deming's profound knowledge, but
most human system experts haven't had training in the business profession.
Enumerative statistics has lead their development instead of analytical
statistics. If you get on the wrong train you get lost in the journey.
The essence of human systems is quite simple
if two people are balanced in their "power" position or in hierarchy, they
should be able to negotiate their needs without extreme problems. Most
people still think win-lose instead of win-win because they don't realize
what is best for the whole is best for each member. Thought processes are
culturally and individually driven, common causes and special causes.
Just as the retributive system of justice is
the current driver of justice doesn't mean that restorative justice will
never replace the old. The "truths" of systems don't stop at manufacturing.
Some knowledge is profound.
