Re: Popper, openness and innovation

March Jacques truly did the DEN a service in sending along Kent Myers'
review of Mark Amadeus Notturno's book, "Science and the Open Society: The
Future of Karl Popper's Philosophy". The section of the review that
addresses defensive/loose thinking connects with another excellent new
book, Chris Argyris' "Flawed Advice and the Management Trap; How Managers
Can Know When They're Getting Good Advice and When They're Not". Argyris'
concept of Model II behavior, of questioning, not papering over
contradictions and defensive reasoning, is in line with Myers' and
Notturno's concerns.
