REQUEST: Business Exellence, Best Practise etc. of American building industries....

I am working for a German management consultancy / research group and would like to ask you for some information.
One of our clients  - a leading company in the German building industry (house building) - would like to contact an American leading company of the building industry which is practising business excellence (best practice, benchmarking etc.) and has already received awards for its work (Quality etc.).

It would help me a great deal if you could give me information or name other resources where I could get some!
