It is possible to put the facts before Mr. Cringely. In another message to
him, I did my bit. Others may see alternative ways of education this very
interesting writer.
Sarasohn and Protzman did a good service to Japan and should be remembered
for that. We should not engage, as Mr. Cringely did, in denying anyone
their share of the contribution to the success of the Japanese. After all,
it was the group of 30 or so top managers of Japanese firms that got the
ball rolling after listening to Ed Deming. I think that they too deserve
credit. Let us not forget those who followed such as Juran, Feigenbaum,
Ishikawa, Kano, etc. etc. I'm sure that DEN readers know this but
apparently it escaped Mr. Cringley.
