John makes other points, but let me only comment on this one.  When 
the idea of the DEN was proposed, the intent was to make it the 
official channel of the WEDI.  For reasons I do not fully understand, 
this idea was not taken up by the WEDI.  Several of us decided that 
there was a need and Jim Clauson became the leader, setting it all up 
for us.

Over the years I have wished that the WEDI would change its position, 
but it has not.

I fear that the logic escapes me.  What if THEY do not think it 
important.  Does that mean that it IS NOT important?  To whom?
