Control Charts

Hello Group:
I have just read John McConnel's excellent post regarding Control Charts.
I absolutely agree that after all is said and done the reason for using
control charts is to reduce variation.
Along the same lines tha goal of all of this is for the organization to be
successful.
One more comment on quality that I am sure we have heard before is that
quality is not static, but is a moving target. Today's quality won't cut
it in the future. Immediately after WW II and into the 50's and 60's
American made quality was good enough, but was left behind beginning in the
70's and by the 80's was a crisis. Quality is a moving target. That is
why you must be continually working at removing variation which will result
in improving quality.
I have asked this question before because I believe we need to be about
changing the world. How do you create the working environment that makes
this possible?
