Hello Group:

I am sure that we all have our own beliefs regarding what the purpose or
aim of an educational system should be, after all Deming said that the aim
is a value judgement.  Here's mine.

The aim of an educational system is to enable people to function
effectively as adults and contribute to society and to humanity.

I added the last part about humanity as an after thought because I believe
we must acknowedge the interdepencence of people and nations and move
beyond national borders.
