Market Forces - Myron's comment

In 'That Paper' thread:
Myron Tribus <mtribus@home.com> writes
>cause me to join with quite a few
>others (such as George Soros) in questioning if the continual
>emphasis on "market forces" as the proper arbiter of what should
>happen in the world will lead us where we would like to be.

As ever, well put Myron.

As with conventional warfare, this approach only works for you if you
are on the 'winning' side. With Market Forces however, the dead are
harder to count.

I think Dr Deming tried to tell us that, in the long run, this Market
Forces strategy was not going to put the USA and its WW2 allies on the
winning side.
Any evidence for this?

The vast majority of the world's citizens, in my view, could come to
some agreement about what 'better' would like in terms of a global goal.
The tragedy is that they cannot see a shared _way_.

Sadly, 'Market Forces' is appealing in its simplicity. I have found that
to many people, Dr Deming's philosophy is not.
