In yesterday's news in the UK, a test case was reported in which a market
trader had his old 'imperial' system scales confiscated. He has been charged
with a criminal offence which, although worded differently, is essentially
that he is using a means of measurement that is now illegal.

I hope these people don't ever read some of the 'debates' on this list about
the right way to use a control chart or what you should or shouldn't measure
with it.

Will one of them climb to the top of the high court buildings and 'modify'
the self-same instrument held in one hand of the statue of the lady who is
stood standing there?

If they do they best keep their eye on what she has in her other hand.
