Dan Robertson was led astray by a comment I circulated which, alas, 
turns out to be WRONG.

If you are giving a paper at the Bata Conference, all your expenses 
(except travel) will be taken care of by the conference hosts. 
However, if you are just there as a spectator, you will have to pay 
for yourself.  Sorry folks, but I misinterpreted the early 
announcements on this subject.
