RE: Criticism

Have you ever noticed that people who base their actions and their authority
on knowledge are more open to (even willing to hear) critisism? People who
are trying to understand their systems, are they not anxious to talk to more
people to learn and receive critique of their actions? On the other hand,
people who, for some reason or another, donīt have the knowledge or the
willingnes to understand their systems, base their authority and their
actions on force, power and fear. Arenīt they closed to critisism and feel
threatened by anybody questioning them?

"Knowledge comes form the outside, and by invitation" (I am not quoting,
just paraphrasing) Lewis??

Most of the times I have given unsolicited advice I have achieved nothing
more than an entertaining discussion (for me of course). But it has cost me
the access I might have had with that person concerning the issue being
discussed.

My advice is ;): Have meaningful discussions (even criticize heavily) with
people who are ready to listen and learn (if you are ready to do so
yourself), have patience with people who are not (and keep your mouth shut)
and donīt waste your time those who donīt want to.

Hope this is helpful.
