I considered that I might have some responsibility to enlighten "Dr. B" given 
my relative proximity among DENizens that I know of to UCLA.  I'm glad to see 
that you took the time.  I was just appalled by what he wrote.  I consider it 
a cautionary tale to avoid casual soundbites about anyone's work that you 
don't know well.  His statements were downright irresponsible.  This man has 
made an utter fool of himself, and on the internet no less.  I feel sorry for 
him -- but of course that does not mean that he shouldn't be corrected.  I 
hope he comes to understand just how wrong he was.
