Re: Personal application of Deming's 14 Points

I have been having the same experience with groups learning the 14 points.
Using the Deming library footage created by Clare C Mason and Roy Dobbins I have the group divide into two groups and the first group take notes on the odd points and the other for the even points.

When the first seven points have been played. The groups dicuss : What does this point mean for us? What parts are we doing or not doing in relation to this point? What would it mean for us if we adopt this way of being and thinking? How do we express these ideas in the language that will be understood, relevant and embraced by our work mates?

The teams then present their finding and paper the walls with flip chart paper describing the philosophy as Aussies see it, (always true to the aim, with a good deal of ownership). Then onto the next & points. This exercise takes about 3 hour or so of a morning session and really brings the ideas alive for people who mostly have never heard of that dear
man, W E Deming.

Try it, you will have a lot of productive fun.
