Misconceptions about Deming

I think it would be unfair to characterized Dr. Deming as ignoring the desires of stock holders. If you look at his recommended aim for a company (page 51, "The New Economics"), he says, "The aim proposed here for any organization is for everyone to gain - stokcholders, employess, suppliers, customers, community, the environment - over the long term."

Dr. Deming merely argues for balance among competing interests, and certainly not the exclusion of the interests of the stockholder.
