Dear Tony:
(depending upon how secure your relation to his may be!) You might
suggest that every person be given four numbers. the first describes
the potential his position has to make a contribution if no one else
were present. Another which measures the chaos that would be created
from this position (by anyone) if the work were not done on time and
properly. The third and fourth numbers would indicate how close to
100% the person is on the two other measures. Tell him you can
figure out some of these four numbers, with his help, but you have
difficulty figuring out how to combine them.
