joint one with the APM
Risk SIG and the Centre for Tomorrow's Company.
There will be a workshop in the morning examining the Turnbull Report and
its implications for
Project Risk Management.
Morning session: 09.30 12.30
THE TURNBULL REPORT ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE: IMPLICATIONS FOR PROJECT RISK
MANAGEMENT
Presented by: Stephen Ward, Southampton University, Jeremy Harrison
Railtrack, Peter Rainey
Rolls Royce, Mike Ocock, Anser Conspectus Ltd
The adoption of the Turnbull report puts risk management high on the agenda
of every successful
organisation. Organisations, whether in the public or private sector, are
recognising the need for
higher standards of corporate governance and a more effective approach to
risk management.
The workshop will examine the part to be played by project risk management
and how it can
support corporate risk management as envisaged by Turnbull. The Turnbull
report emphasises how
projects can put businesses at serious risk. Is this because project risk
management is ineffective or because projects, by their very nature, are
risky?
What kind of risk does Turnbull create for project risk management, a
threat or an opportunity?
Against a background of supporting presentations, these and other questions
will be the subject of
what, we are sure, will be a lively debate.
There will be a charge of £25 for the morning workshop (including buffet
lunch). To book a
place, please write to Mike Ocock, c/o Anser Conspectus Ltd., 25 Garrick
Street, London WC2E
9AX and enclose a cheque for £25, made payable to "Association for Project
