Re: Getting the Deming message out

<<Is Six Sigma not damaging the very
foundation of the teachings of Deming? Please help me to find some
answers.>>

There never has been a conflict between Six Sigma and Deming's teachings.
Deming's teachings and later work done by Motorola are normally presented
as the foundation upon with Six Sigma is built. Also, I am pleased to see th=
at
both ASQ and IOQ are preparing Black Belt certification examinations, which=20
will
be a BIG help for companies hiring consultants.=20

Personally, I don't see either Six Sigma or the new ISO standard as "fads",=20
but
as fulfilling Deming's point #5. The Japanese companies
I am familiar with ... (e.g., Fuji )..are doing like I am....constantly=20
trying to understand and apply these new
techniques for continuous improvement...and are doing well, unlike many othe=
r=20
Japanese companies
who are trying to live in the past and perpetuate a 1980s based quality=20
system.
