Re: Crisis in Japan

I am not internet-addict yet but I think I better to write down a second note
on this subject otherwise it might be gone forever. One way of learning is to
share our learning.

I start to ask Jim some English. He explained very nice. We talked about Mafia.
and Jim explained that 'Being a spot welder is considered a menial and dirty
job.'

I remember that I visited one Japanese factory and in there lobby, listed all
the high grade technical certifications of 'welders' in their factory. They are
very proud of their 'workmanship'. I think this is one thing they learned from
German and other countries. In some segments of industry, I believe that spot
welding is still a high-tech area.

Dr. Deming mentioned in his interview with Quality in 1980 that Japanese
managers and workers know that they are in the same system. One the other hand,
USA still cannot solve this important social issue.

Dr. R. Ackoff wrote Democratic Corporate (OUP) several years ago and I think
this subject is an important one for all organizations worldwide, including
Japan and China.
