It is interesting to read the various insights into the
function of the forum moderator and whether it is inspection
or not. This is an interesting exercise on which to play to
understand Deming principles, if that's the intention or need.
However, are we overcomplicating things? Is the forum not
simply an electronic journal? The moderator is just doing
(very well) his chosen task of editing, a necessity for any
scholarly publication. I feel assured that he will
examine and act on any useful suggestions which will make
that task easier for him while maintaining the quality of
postings according to the rules of the "journal".
This post is not meant to limit further "play". It's just
to note that I appreciate the quality of editing that Jim
does, regardless.
