Performance Reviews: Perilous Curves Ahead

The current issue of Fortune Magazine (May 28) has an article by the above
title.  It's more information about the current practice of some Fortune
500 companies and their practice of ranking people.  If you get a chance to
read the article thing about the tremendous amount of time these companies
put into this practice.  This is a classic case of suboptimization.  This
is a tremendous drain on management time, a demotivating factor for the
employee, and a loss for the economy as this affects these companies
ability to compete in the global market.
