Grading Students

Hello Group:
I think Steve makes a good point. From his post you can also see the
conflict of the school which wants the money the company is paying and is
apparently willing to issue a degree to a student who is putting in very
minimual efforts. Is the employer really benefiting from this. I would
venture to say that the quality of work this student produces at work is
also below standard.
When I am thinking of failing grades I am thinking primarily of students is
grade school, when being placed in the B reading group or held back a year
can have long term implications for a person. The individual Steve is
refering to is an adult and should be treated as an adult. If he truly did
not meet the requirements for the course then he should be made aware of
that fact. Something like this could be a wake up call that says that life
is about more than meeting the minimual requirements.
