RE: Deming & Montessori

I am currently working in Holland and recently stayed overnight with a Dutch
consulting colleague. He has 3 children - all at Montessori schools. His
small town indeed has 2 of them, and I was surprised to find that they are
part of the state education system.

I wonder if such schools live up to the original purpose, or whether they
have been subverted in any way by state politics?

Or maybe the Dutch are simply more enlightened - as they appear to be on
issues such as drugs, prostitution, the way they respect their politicians,
integration within the EEC, etc
