Hello Group:
The company is Lincoln Electric and they do may electric welders. They are
the standard of the industry, and have for over 60 years practiced a form
of profit sharing. This plan was instituted at the request of their
workers during the depression years of the 1930's. I believe that if you
examine their pay system in the light of Deming you will see that while
obviously effective, it tends to suboptimize their larger system. If you
write them they will be glad to share this system with you. The might have
a web site you could visit.
