Hello Group:

A friend of mind once asked my how many 3 inch nails there were in the
world.  My answer was that I suspected that there would be quite a few.  He
replied that there were none.  The problem was in measurement, and in
coming up with a method of measurement that was reliable for measuring the
nails.  Given this there are still a lot of very usable 3 inch nails in the
world, because in this case the need for precision is not that great.
