Re: The Denlist significance
No opinion or factual statement made by anyone is completely valueless to
everyone.
We are, after all, only the sum total of our life experience (formal
education or training being only a contribution to our total life
experience).
Dr. Deming was like the robot in the movie (Short Circuit) who
constantly seeks "more data." At the end of each day, after his dinner
and martinis, did he not retreat to his room specially set up with a bed to
his specification, a work table with light to his specification and
commence regurgitating his day's experience? He listened to people, to the
verbal manifestation of their minds, for any nuggets that were useful to
his own - to the life experience.
Classy guy that he was, during his seminars and talks he always gave
credit to those source of data.
The Denlist gives us all an opportunity to "cherry" pick the word,
sentence, paragraph or statements of others' experience; to assimilate into
our experience. Who knows how it changes us? Most times we are probably
not even conscious of the change in ourselves. We become something
different everytime we learn something new.
One can only have pity for those who feel they need no new knowledge or
reject knowledge as an assault on what they feel they know.

you grow grass!
