Re: Flow Charts
James Robert Crow's post reminds me of one bad example I did years ago in
'teaching' a big organization's " middle" management staffs in flow charting.
I used Peter Scholtes's The Leader's Handbook and its exercises. For
individual's homework assignment, they all brought up very nice 'examples' of
flowcharting. But somehow I realized that something was missing in this naive
approach. My design is only self-sufficient and local optimized. In the sea of
flow charts, where is the leadership and the deep understanding of a theory of
a system?
How difficult to implement the Deming Philosophy and how true is his constancy
of purpose.
