Ford and Six Sigma

Hello Group:
Catorization, or placing a label on a person is a destructive practice and
should not be practiced.
In speaking to groups regarding ranking, I have asked the group "How many
of you are average performers?" No hands are raised. I then ask, "How
many of you are below average?" Once again no hands are raised. I then
must assume that everyone in the group is an above average performer.
Ford's new classifications of High Achiever, Achiever, and Needs
Improvement is nothing but an updated version of the old A, B, C system
they had before. An Achiever and a B stands for average performance. How
many of you want to be average in terms of performance? Being average is
the kiss of death. In effect your career is over. You may not be fired,
but you are no longer the fair haired lad with a bright future. How will
this knowledge affect your performance?
