Honoring Homer Sarasohn
The following note is from Homer's daughter - please
contact her directly with any questions or contributions.
Status: RO
Homer Sarasohn passed away yesterday, September 28,
due to complications related to lymphoma. I thought
that you, as one of his colleagues in the field of
quality management, might want to know.
If you'd like to send a remembrance of Homer or a note
of condolence to his wife, Shirley Sarasohn, you can
reply to this email address or find the postal address
at
http://www.geocities.com/honoring_homer.
Feel free to pass this message along to any of your
colleagues who might also want to know.
The Honoring Homer web site also posts the farewell
address that Homer delivered upon leaving Japan in
1950 and photos of Homer with CCS course graduates
including Konosuke Matsushita, founder of the
Matsushita Electic
Company (Panasonic). I've also linked the site to
articles by you and others regarding Homer's role in
Japanese industrial development and quality assurance.
As another way of honoring my father, I'm
participating in the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's
half-marathon taking place December 15. My goal is to
raise at least $1,900 by November 1 to support the
Society's work to alleviate blood-related cancers.
If you'd like to honor Homer by donating to the
Society, you can send a check payable to The Leukemia
& Lymphoma Society to me at
Lisa Sarasohn
PO Box 1783
Asheville, NC 28802
or donate online through the web site at
http://www.geocities.com/honoring_homer and the
connection to PayPal's secure server.
Thank you, and I wish you well.
Sincerely,
Lisa Sarasohn
