Companies and Performance Appraisals

Hello Group:

I have a book by Jeffrey Pfeffer, which I can't locate this morning, in
which he talks about SAS Institute in North Carolina.  SAS is one of the
more successful software companies.  They do not do performance appraisals,
and have no pay for performance either.  They also insis that their people
only work a 40 hour week and are very family friendly.
