Re: Organizational Structure



Hello Group:

The quality process should be designed into the organizational structure,
not added on.  One of the ways you can undermind a quality implementation
process if to put someone in charge of quality.  I remember doing a study
on the implementatin of quality in companies about 8 years ago.  I called
the CEO of a company and his reply was that we are really into that we have
had a person trained.  He then gave me that person's name and telephone
number.  When I met with that person he was very fustrated.  He had
received a week's training, and had some books, but was not really able to
do anything inside the company.  Other people/departments saw him as
meddleing in their affairs.  Don't call us, we'll call you.  The phone did
not ring.  The president on the other hand thought that he was ahead of the
curve on the quality game.  He had had a person trained.
