Book title mix-up

DENizens,

A DENizen wrote in asking about Deming's "...Competitive Position..."
text (or texts) and recent references made to one of them on the DEN.

I thought I would reply to the DEN in case others has a similar
question.

1.  Deming wrote "Quality, Productivity, and the Competitive Position"
in 1982.  This was, in effect, the beta draft of "Out of the Crisis" -
which was published in 1986.  If you look at the copyright on Out of the
Crisis - it shows both 1982 and 1986.  The original 1982 version is out
of print.

2.  Howard and Shelly Gitlow wrote "The Deming Guide to Quality and the
Competitive Position" in 1987.
