Some changes this month reflecting the possibilities offered by the web.

Beginners please now has its own pages -- just click on the button. Thinking of Myron's quote on the frontpage, Andrew Pearson writes: I am "doing process improvement" in an environment of short termism, numerical/financial targets, merit ratings, appraisals, ISO9000 etc etc. I (and I suspect so many others in my "grass roots" position) would like to ask: Not when but where do I start? Please share your advice with other readers.

The beginner's please answers will link to the tools for transformation pages . This is also to become the home for responses to beginner's queries to the DEN. The first of these answers from Steve Prevette is now up. Its about control charts. Thanks Steve.

If you have a question please send it to editor@ukdn.net and let me know if you wish to remain anaonymous, to have your name included and not contact info or if you want name and contact info.

Courses and conferences will list UK courses and conferences with a Deming Flavour and selected overseas events. Henry's courses up to the end of 2003 are now included.

Finally brief thanks to Bob Smith, a reader who lives just down the valley from here. Bob made some excellent comments about the site -- he was afraid they might be too nit-picky. Whatever else they may me, they are enormously helpful. Thanks Bob

And thanks to Denise, John, and others for your encouraging mails.

Alan
