Safety & HR
Further to Jim's posting last week you will note that the Deming =
activity from Aberdeen is continuing to make progress - under the name =
of The Deming Learning Network Ltd
We have represented our approach and thoughts on our web page - I hope =
you have a chance to visit it.
Address: http://www.dln.org.uk
Our basic thinking is that to achieve change within an organisation we =
should address three elements - the individual - the organisation - the =
support group.
We therefore run what we call action learning groups to coach the =
individual and support them - through a group of their peers - in the =
application of new thinking - while at the same time ensuring that we =
have buy in from the CEO (In fact we involve the CEOs in a support group =
of their own)
We have at present a CEO group - A Quality/Training Mangers Group - A =
Group of Accountants.
We now want to turn our attention to Safety and HR.
When talking to "safety" professionals I was asked what the Deming =
philosophy could contribute to safety - I was able to say the standard =
stuff like systems thinking and understanding variation - but recognised =
I needed more - I was hoping that the DEN would help me answer the =
question=20
And I would like to ask for the same help in the context of Human =
Resource Management.
Very much appreciate your help - hope we now, in Aberdeen, have a system =
where we can use the considerable potential of the DEN.
