DEN and Intellectual Property

DENizens,

In response to a back channel enquiry about using DEN postings:

Internet Intellectual Property is evolving daily as cases are tested.  As of right now,
post made to the DEN are, on one hand public domain - in that anyone has access and use
of the information.

One may, without the author's permission, use the *complete* message, with author and DEN 
attribution.  It is, however, common courtesy to ask the author's permission.

One may NOT legally edit, modify, excerpt, summarize... then use any individual post
without the explicit permission of the original author.

These are not my rules - they are recent legal cases.
