Re: DEN invitation to West Coast Forum

Bill Cooper hit the nail on the head in his observations
that the April conference will both honor Dr. Deming's
work and look at how we can build upon it. With speakers
and panelists like Myron Tribus, Alan Winlow, Tom
Johnson, Ed Maher, Steve Prevette, Rip Stauffer, Laurie
Broedling, and Rob Rodin, there will be a broad range of
perspectives to offer and integrate into a systems view.
The pre-conference seminar will provide a helpful
transition to those who want to start with basic concepts.

I am personally excited about the opportunity to have
this sort of gathering on the U.S. west coast, for those
who have found it difficult to make the journey outside
this region to connect with the Deming community. Boeing/
Rocketdyne in Canoga park has been a generous sponsor,
and we think the location will be great for seeing engines
used in Saturn rockets and the space shuttle. We also
hope to enjoy some warm southern California weather.

Bill also made a valuable comment about how we would love
to have help from any DEN members who plan to attend. If
anyone can pitch in during the conference to support set-
up, registration, or logistics, please let me know at
DanRobrtsn@aol.com. Spreading the word to tell people
about the conference is always appreciated, too!

And to Mr. Clauson's concern about power being available,
have no fear -- the lights will be on (and someone will be
there)!

Thanks,
Dan Robertson
