Reminder--WEDI/CQI Midwest Deming Conference

Denizens---
       Just a reminder that that the W. Edwards Deming Institute and Capital 
Quality Initiative's Midwest Quality Conference is coming up soon---April 
5-6-7 in Lansing, Michigan. The Conference centers on life long learning with 
both a business and education focus.
   It has a dynamite list of Deming beacons, including people you know well, 
such as  Myron Tribus, Gipsie Ranney, Mike Beck, Eric Budd, Marcia Daszko, 
Michelle Guenther, Susan Leddick, Victor Lowe, Ron Moen, Joyce Orsini, Ed 
Rothman, Carole and Dave Schwinn, and the closest replica of Dr. Deming 
incarnate---David Wayne. Author Andrew Bennett (Real Magic) and some true 
standouts of the education community including Sally Duncan, John Cleveland, 
Tom Glenn and Monta Akin of the Leander, Texas school district 
(Langford/Deming school), and Bette Moen speaking on the Cedar Crest Academy, 
a school following the Deming philosophy, a and many other exciting speakers. 
Also, Barnes & Noble will have a book store of quality business and edcuation 
books, plus titles of current interest, at a discount. 
  This Conference already has attendees registered from 13 states, including 
WEDI President, Diana Deming Cahill (though not as a speaker). The cost is 
modest---$225 for the whole conference (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)---or 
come Friday only for $100, or Sat/Sun only for $150. For individuals in need 
or who are employed by a non-profit or school without funding available, a 
few scholarships are still available.
   Lansing Airport has direct flights from Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, 
Cincinnati, Milwaukee (Northwest, United, Delta, etc) and elsewhere---the 
Detroit Airport, in Romulus Michigan, is about a 75-minute drive---some 
car-pooling from there may be accessible.
