Have to disagree.
The new standard does call for measurable quality objectives.
General objectives flow from the Quality policy, which must be set by management.
Specific objectives flow from this,and MUST be measurable.
You are correct in saying that no particular method of measurement is required by the standard, however, last year I developed a comparison of the 8 principles in ISO 9000:2000 against Deming's philosophy to show they are completely compatible.
Would be more than happy to share this with the group.
