"Gold is soluble in hydrochloric acid" is a scientific statement - even
though it is false. Whereas "People have Souls" - is not a scientific
statement even though it may be true.
What makes a statement scientific is that it is capable of being disproved.
Therefore there can never be a perfect end state of knowledge as far a
science is concerned. There is only the best hypothesis that we have so far,
waiting to be disproved.
