SV: Article on ISO & Quotas



I think that Charlie may have a point when he concludes that "Maybe we are only to manage processes and not people."

That is however a big step from traditional economic management in which managers are supposed to spend their time managing employees motivation and relationships in a top down perepsctive.
    
Could we say that Deming meant that management's primary responsibility is setting up and continually improving and innovating procesesses as well as products and services. 
Other issues such as personal feelings, relationships, trust, joy in work etc should be left alone unless, of  course, employees as well as customers or suppliers are in siuations where they need help from the managment?

Some doors always have had to be opened from the inside
