RE: Challenges to systems thinking

I apologise if I appear like the little boy who pointed-out that the
Emperor has no clothes. I fully accept I may be missing something here.

However, I find all this correspondence about whether we should be
talking about "a system" or "the system" of "profound knowledge" hugely
depressing.

Speaking personally, I never talk about "profound knowledge" with the
people with whom I work on a day-to-day basis. To do so would be to
risk them thinking that I was saying my knowledge was profound, whereas
their knowledge was puny and insignificant.

Perhaps this jargon is helpful amongst "consenting adults" on the Deming
Electronic Network, but, in my experience, it's a big turn-off in the
real world.

Ooooooh. I now await the howls of protest.

Regards as ever,

Alan
