RE: Animal Crackers



[Moderator's Note:  John sent me the following question and I can only
vaguely recall a story from
Gipsie Ranney or Joyce Orsini written up -- wherein 'when is a red bead not
a red bead?' and when 
counting animal crackers*: 'when is a cow not a cow? - is it still a cow if
it has 3 legs?'

The story is on page 106 of The New Economics.  The aim of the exercise is a
demonstration of Operational Definitions.
