Documentary Series

[Moderator's Note: Most are aware of our non-commercial policy on the DEN - this is a thought forum and...
well, you have heard my lecture... ;-)

That said... Below is a project that is looking for funding. If it were anyone else - I would probably
spike it - but this comes from the folks that produced the 1980 documentary "If Japan can... Why Can't
We?" that was acknowledged as making Deming an "over night success" after many, many years of trying.
(That WAS said tongue-in-cheek.) I dare say that this forum might not exist had it not been for Clare and Bob.

In addition, when the Deming Video Library just about stopped selling, it was CC-M that took an inventory
hit and bought up the Libraries - and has been selling them to the DEN community for deep discounts.

So - this is not a commercial posting - but an opportunity to connect with thought leaders and make a
difference. I saw a bill board today that said "Business is a Mind Game... Invest in Intelectual
Capital."

From Bob Mason at CC-M:

This is the aim of the project:

A few outstanding American businesses, schools, hospitals, and government
agencies are practicing a new way of organizing and managing people and
producing better and better goods and services and profits for less effort
and expense. And employees are enjoying their work.

We believe it is vital in this time of change and failing institutions to
tell these stories to a wide audience in a television documentary and raise
a public discussion of more effective ways to manage our schools health
care, government and industry.

These stories will enjoy many years of use as interesting training
videocassettes, as have our earlier documentaries.

The production will consist of one hour on education, one hour on health
care, and one hour on business and government. It will draw on Baldrige
winners and other organizations we have identified.

We are organized as a 501(c)(3) educational enterprise. We seek
tax-deductible subscriptions from $5000 upward.

DEN members can help by suggesting companies, foundations, or individuals
that we might approach.

Thank you.

Bob
