The Deming Four-Day Video Seminar
October 14-17, 2002, Washington DC

Dr. Deming developed a comprehensive body of theory for management of
organizations. Although presented in terms of business management, his
theory can be applied to education, health care, government of all sizes
from community to national, and has implications for world-wide economic
development. Dr. Deming's theory represents a departure from common modes of
thought concerning appropriate methods for management of system and people.
Dr. Deming continued to develop his theory and its applications throughout
his life.
We are fortunate to use the videos representing a typical  4-day seminar by
Dr. Deming.  Thus, we have the opportunity to hear his words, and explore,
how his teachings are relevant to the organizations we are involved with
everyday.
The seminar consists of large screen video presentations, and live
facilitation to create an interactive learning environment. Small working
group activities, scattered throughout each day, provide ample opportunity
to deepen understanding and clarify concepts. Supplemental texts include Dr.

Government, Education

Location 

The W. Edward Deming Institute®'s 2002 Four-Day Video Seminar will be held
at the Marriott's Georgetown University Conference Center, Washington, DC.
Located on the campus of Georgetown University, the hotel provides easy
access to one of the nation's most treasured historic districts. In
addition, the hotel offers a variety of on-site restaurants, convenience
stores, the Georgetown University Bookstore, a business center, guest
laundry, and exercise room. The closest airport, Ronald Reagan Washington
National Airport, is 15 minutes by taxi 

Lodging 

A room rate of $160 (single), $170 (double), per night plus applicable
taxes. To ensure a room at the conference rate, reservations must be made by
September 20.

Registration

The Deming Four-Day Video Seminar cost $795 per person.  The fee includes
continental breakfast, breaks and buffet lunch each day, plus copies of Out
