We all like to think we have some sort of "system." We like to think we are
not doing things willy-nilly. The word "system," therefore, seems to have a
protective veneer around it that keeps many of us from getting to the
fundamentals of qualities management. A system is but an artifact of the
mind. An abstraction of experience--not experience itself. Deming
represents a view (ontology) of experience fundamentally different from the
mainstream. From this view evolves a system. First we must understand his
ontology; then we can talk system.
